Security Systems / Access Control - Installation Technician (IL)

Duties

  • Install, test, and commission commercial security systems
  • Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling
  • Fiber termination experience is a plus
  • Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment
  • Installing pathway supports such as j hooks and ladder trays
  • Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures
  • Installing security related equipment for commercial industries, including installing, testing, and commissioning door hardware & camera systems
  • Willingness to travel to national job sites as needed

    Skills

    • Strong understanding of computer networking principles related to security systems and remote access software
    • Mechanical knowledge for installing hardware components such as sensors, locks, CCTV cameras, and alarm devices
    • Experience working as a service technician in security or telecommunication fields with a focus on low voltage systems
    • Knowledge of security system components including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms (fire alarm systems), IDS devices, surveillance equipment, and locksmithing basics
    • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
    • Manufacturer certifications or AV/fiber experience a plus
