About the role

The Department of Pathology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) and Case Western Reserve University is seeking an experienced academic hematopathologist to lead the Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical Pathology. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the hematopathology diagnostic services, support and oversee the educational and research missions of the Section, and mentor the faculty of the Section to success in these missions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Section of Hematopathology, including the hematology laboratory, bone marrow and lymph node diagnostic services, and flow cytometry.
• Provide state-of-the-art diagnostic services to UHCMC, Seidman Cancer Center, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, and other hospitals in the UH network.
• Support and oversee educational and research missions of the Section.
• Mentor faculty members in clinical, translational, and research activities.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Requirements

• Experienced academic hematopathologist.
• For physician-scientist candidates: potential for competitive externally funded laboratory research programs (appropriate laboratory space and start-up package commitments will be provided).
