Hematopathology Medical Director

About the role

The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories is seeking a Hematopathology Medical Director to build an academic career in this field.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and report clinical test results
• Ensure quality control and assurance of laboratory tests
• Develop new laboratory tests
• Teach and train fellows and residents
• Conduct research and participate in committees
• May assume directorship of a clinical laboratory section

Requirements

• MD, MD/PhD with board certification or board eligibility in Hematopathology
• Eligibility for Utah medical license
• Experience in clinical diagnostic testing related to hematopathology

Qualifications

• Strong clinical and academic background appropriate to level of training and experience
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Experience in molecular genetic pathology or pathology informatics/AI is desirable but not required
