Section Chief Laboratory Technologist – Specialty Lab - Full Time – Days

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens including assays for Immunosuppressive Drug Testing (ISD), Electrophoresis, Fetal Defect Markers, Sweat Chloride, and Kappa Lambda testing.
• Serve as a lead to other Laboratory Technologists.
• Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation as well as conduct validation studies.
• Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science.
• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum unless credentials are grandfathered in as life experience.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred.
• Chemistry background strongly preferred.

Pay

$61.40-$70.55/Hourly

Schedule

This is a Day shift position working Monday - Friday plus rotating weekends and holidays. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.
