Qualifications
- Ability to type 70 wpm
- Experience in data entry, computer and word processing
- Excellent spelling and problem-solving skills
- Telephone skills: Ability to work independently and with co-workers as well as communicate effectively with patients and professionals
- Able to prioritize, organize and attend to detail
- Possesses light physical demand level - be able to lift 25 pounds regularly and occasionally 50 pounds to assist in basic patient care and/or to assist with office supplies utilizing proper body mechanics
- Able to stand, walk, and sit frequently
- Possesses adequate reaction time to respond quickly to unexpected patient care situations
- Must be able to walk/maneuver frequently in and around the building and be able to operate several different desktop devices, computer, scanner, phone etc.

Essential Job Functions
- Schedules outpatient appointments with scheduling tools and per department protocol
- Obtains and verifies insurance and billing information
- Able to accurately process information for all insurance types as well as have the ability to obtain the necessary information for insurance types that are not familiar
- Maintains >95% accuracy
- Provides phone reception utilizing excellent service excellence techniques
- Creates, manages and scans chart notes to assist clinicians with patient care and following the regulatory requirements to maintain records; for example, HIPAA
- Registers patient accounts and audits/monitors information for accuracy and to ensure proper billing
- Provides front desk reception duties, involving leadership when a situation has the potential to escalate or to receive recognition for staff
- Performs all job functions in a timely, efficient and effective manner as part of a team
- Supports a collaborative and cooperative environment to facilitate mutual respect and effective interpersonal relations
