Secondary Math Teacher

MISTAFF is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators, Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and Michigan School Public Relations Association.

About the Role

We are seeking passionate educators to fill various teaching positions across Michigan K-12 schools through our alternative certification program. This is an excellent opportunity for career changers or recent graduates who are committed to making a difference in students' lives.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong desire to teach and make a positive impact on students.
• Eligibility to enroll in an alternative certification program in Michigan.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience is beneficial but not required.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
