Summary Description
Responsible for the operation of the boilers, chillers, and associated equipment according to established policies and procedures, and in compliance with OEM, regulatory, and code requirements.
- Performs teardown and reassembling of boilers and chillers for regulatory inspections.
- Maintains competency in the use of the Johnson Controls Metasys Building Automation System and the Notifire System.
- Monitors and operates the Swisslog tube system computer.
- Answers the department’s phone and responds with appropriate action when office staff are unavailable.
- Generates work orders in the AIMS system when requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- City of Detroit 2nd Class Engineers License.
- City of Detroit 1st Class Refrigeration Operator License.
Skills Required
- Ability to read, write, speak English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Competent computer skills to operate the equipment within the Summary Description.
- Ability to use tools necessary to the function of the job.
- Knowledge of supplies, materials, parts substitutions, codes and equipment records in order to make sound decisions regarding repair work.
