Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the overall SEC filings process which includes quarterly 10-Q, annual 10-K, and press releases.
- Prepare cash flow statement, various footnotes and MD&A (Management Discussion and Analysis) disclosures, and maintain XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) compliance.
- Collaborate with business partners throughout the SEC filing process, including but not limited to, corporate accounting, legal, investor relations, and various members of senior management, and external auditors.
- Navigate through complex technical accounting matters to understand the transaction, accounting treatment, related policy, and the appropriate disclosure presentation in both the financial statements and the footnotes.
- Conduct accounting research, draft accounting memos, and assist with other ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
- Experience with US GAAP and the SEC filing process in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
