Senior SEC Reporting Analyst

About the role
Under the general direction of the Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, the Senior SEC Reporting Analyst participates in the preparation and filing of annual and quarterly financial statements, as well as other SEC filings. This role also includes responsibilities in stock compensation administration, general ledger accounting, special projects, technical accounting research, internal control activities, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of documents for 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy filings.
- Responsible for the administration, journal entries, and reporting of all equity-based transactions, equity schedules, EPS calculations, and footnote disclosures for SEC filings.
- Research, analyze, and document technical accounting issues and operational applications, including areas of significant accounting estimates and judgment, new accounting pronouncements, significant transactions, and complex business arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with and review of the XBRL process, as well as GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
- Support and prepare annual reports for subsidiaries and support requests by external auditors.
- Prepare disclosure checklists and ensure compliance with all GAAP and disclosure requirements.
- Prepares, reconciles, reviews, and analyzes financial records, statements, and reports as required.
- Assist in the Company’s SOX compliance efforts in connection with the financial reporting process.
- Works with external auditors; prepares analytical, financial, and statistical reports and other analyses as required.
- Ad hoc projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management.
Requirements
- Knowledge and skill in the application of generally accepted accounting principles, external reporting requirements and compliance, stock compensation accounting, and complex accounting and financial issues.
- Knowledge of accounting information systems and relational database query and reporting.
- Ability to review, analyze, and reconcile journals, ledgers, and legal documents.
- Organize work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
- Utilize computer applications for accounting, word processing, and spreadsheet software programs.
- Proactive, organized, and able to take ownership of projects and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or a closely related field which has included a significant amount of accounting coursework.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent accounting experience required, including at least 2 years of SEC reporting experience.
- Big 4 experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- Diversified experience with financial accounting systems, JDEdwards experience a plus, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and advanced experience in Workiva and equity management systems preferred.

- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
