Seasonal Winter Sports Skate Guard
About the role
Skateguards are responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the ice rink surface, immediate surrounding area and building. Must be able to meet and serve patrons in a cheerful and professional manner. A Skateguard must also be able to control the ice rink surfaces and warming house building enforcing regulations and safety requirements. Skateguards must show a knowledge of ice skating and be able to skate proficiently. Skateguards are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe outdoor ice surface. This includes performing housekeeping duties at the Goerke Park Warming House Facilities. Goerke Park Skateguards shall be responsible, in all matters, to the Supervisor on duty.
Responsibilities
- Monitor skating at local outdoor ice skating rink.
- Enforce safety rules.
- Maintain clean and safe outdoor ice surface.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the warming house.
- Provide first aid as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must be able to ice skate proficiently.
- Must have knowledge of basic first aid.
- Must have regular and predictable attendance.
- Must have availability to work hours during the school holiday break.
Pay
Salary $16.83 - $17.41 Hourly
Schedule
Position is 8 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 6P - 8P. Hours are extended during the Stevens Point Public Schools Holiday Break.
