Seasonal Streets Technician-Snow Removal
About the Role
This position functions as a front-line provider of services operating automotive and maintenance equipment to perform winter road maintenance and snow/ice removal duties. The role is safety-sensitive, requiring participation in pre-employment and random drug testing under the Town’s policies.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and operates specialized vehicles, equipment, and tools including dump trucks with plow and sanders to perform snow removal duties.
- Maintains records of assignments completed.
- Ensures compliance with all organizational values, policies, and procedures.
- Works on call as needed during the winter season, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver License issued by the State of Colorado, with air brakes and tanker endorsements, is preferred.
- Snow removal experience with a municipal agency is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work twelve-hour shifts during emergency conditions on short notice.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time outside and in all weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Skills
- Knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and supplies used in snow removal.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to perform assigned work independently with direction.
- Ability to identify and implement risk management techniques to reduce exposure to injury, damage, and liability.
- Ability to adhere to all applicable work safety rules, procedures, and equipment operations.
- Ability to coordinate activities with other individuals within the department.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the public.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $22.47–$26.41 per hour. Full salary range: $22.47–$30.34 per hour.
Schedule
The 2026–2027 winter season runs from October 13, 2026, to April 10, 2027. This position requires on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may involve twelve-hour shifts during emergency conditions.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including exposure to fumes, odors, dust, airborne particles, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Frequent use of electric and gas-operated tools and equipment, including trucks, tractors, loaders, and snow removal equipment.
- Requires sustained and demanding physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and over one hundred (100) pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Regular physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and maintaining balance.
- Vision requirements include near and far acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Noise levels vary depending on activities or location.
