Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, move equipment, and complete general outdoor tasks.
- Assist with snow removal, including shoveling, plowing, and applying salt or ice-melt to driveways, walkways, and entrances.
- Operate landscaping and snow removal equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain equipment through basic cleaning and regular upkeep.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Communicate any issues, hazards, or maintenance needs to management.
- Work with Territory Manager and snow division team to assess performance on previous storms, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to remedy deficiencies.
- Work with dedicated snow laborers to ensure that supplies are stocked, vehicles and equipment are in working order, and crews are available.
- Identify potential weaknesses and “what-if” scenarios and work with others to develop backup plans.
- Ensure snow crews have property maps, and all related snow removal supplies/equipment.
- Create efficient clean up routes using only the labor needed to get the job completed in a cost-effective manner and communicate plans to Territory Manager.
- Execute quality control efforts after a snowstorm.
- Drive a deicing truck to apply products as needed.
- Other projects as needed or directed by Territory Manager.
DURING-Storm
- Assume full responsibility during a storm for a zone consisting of between 8-12 properties.
- Document start, stop times from employees and subcontractors.
- Use SiteFotos mobile app to take pictures of proof of work and verify needs.
- Document work orders needed and coordinate labor crew to complete work to DCPS standards.
- Utilize labor efficiently to allow all hours paid to be invoiced to customer.
- Solve problems and move crews around per the needs of each individual property.
- Create efficient clean up routes using only the labor needed to get the job completed in a cost-effective manner and communicate plans to Territory Manager.
POST-Storm
- Conduct daily inspections to identify and remediate thaw-refreeze issues.
- Hold team accountable for completing their quality control routes, documentation, and SiteFotos.
- Ensure timecards and invoice paperwork are processed expeditiously to get workers paid and customers invoiced quickly.
- Work with the Territory Manager to ensure that properties are restored between storms and fully staffed for any upcoming snow events.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to outside elements, including temperature, weather, noise, and landscaping.
- Hazardous conditions due to inclement weather.
- Long hours and overnight shifts.
- Managing teams, crews, and subcontractors to deliver quality services.
- High attention to detail and awareness.
Schedule
- Open availability.
- Flexible, Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, cold temperatures, and heat.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs - regularly.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts during snow events.
- Prior experience with landscaping or snow removal preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate snow removal and landscaping equipment (e.g., shovels, blowers, plows, mowers).
- Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow safety protocols.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $25.00 per hour - $10-dollar snow differential.
- Zone manager rate: $35.00 per hour.
- Discretionary End of Season Bonus.
