Seasonal Recreation Worker
About the role
The Seasonal Recreation Worker assists the Recreation Specialist in coordinating and implementing a variety of recreation programs and special events for citizens of all ages in the City of Casselberry.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance in the coordination and implementation of programs and special events activities for the City.
- Coordinates and implements programs for a variety of groups, including the summer camp program.
- Organizes and instructs individuals and groups in a variety of recreational and athletic activities.
- Maintains records and files, prepares reports, records daily operations, inspections and maintenance in appropriate logs.
- Completes the set-up and clean-up of recreation events and programming.
- Responds timely to customer requests and work orders.
Requirements
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in special events, recreation or related field is required.
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations affecting work.
- Knowledge of departmental rules, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the methods involved in organizing, conducting, promoting, and supervising recreation activities.
- Knowledge of facilities and materials required to carry out special event programs.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines for events and recreational activities.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead and instruct groups of people.
- Ability (intermediate to advanced level) to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to deal with stressful conditions in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
