Responsibilities

  • Load and unload aircraft and carts
  • Stack and unstack baggage in aircraft
  • Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment
  • Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
  • Read and interpret aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags
  • Escort passengers and customers with special-needs safely and courteously
  • Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies

Requirements

  • 18 years old or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
  • Obtain position-specific clearances including but not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
  • Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Lift heavy bags over 50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
  • Attend four days of Basic Station Training

Schedule

  • Temporary, part-time position
  • Work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • New hire training: 10 to 14 days, five days a week, for five hours a day
  • Following training, transition to normal part-time hours
