About the role
This is a temporary part-time position. Ramp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft. They also load and unload aircraft and carts, stack and unstack baggage in aircraft, complete safety checklists for motorized equipment, drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts), read and interpret aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags, escort passengers and customers with special-needs safely and courteously, and ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies.
Responsibilities

- Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
- Read and interpret aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags
- Escort passengers and customers with special-needs safely and courteously
- Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
- Must obtain position-specific clearances, including but not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
- Must pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Physical and other requirements
- Lift heavy bags over 50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
- Attend four days of Basic Station Training
- Work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- This is a part-time position, starting at $19 per hour
- New hire training will be 10 to 14 days, five days a week, for five hours a day
- Following the completion of training, employees will transition to normal part-time hours
- This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
