Seasonal Outdoor Maintenance - Custodial Technician

Employment status: seasonal, at-will, non-benefitted position (duration not to exceed 26 weeks, dependent on budget allotment).

About the role

Assists with performing general maintenance, custodial duties, groundskeeping, and improvements in assigned Iron County tourism and recreational areas. Works under the guidance and supervision of the Iron County Tourism Director and the general direction of the Parks Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and custodial duties in Iron County tourism and recreational areas
• Conduct groundskeeping and improvement tasks
• Operate equipment such as ATVs, power equipment, and hand tools
• Lift 50 pounds regularly (occasionally more)
• Receive, understand, and follow directions and instructions
• Work safely and efficiently with limited supervision
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and the public
• Interact positively with the general public while performing assigned duties
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Utah driver’s license and compliance with Iron County Vehicle Policy (including acceptable driving record)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen and drug screen
• Knowledge of Iron County natural resource areas
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
