Seasonal Nurse - Med Surge

About the Role

Provides direct and indirect patient care in various settings, collaborating with healthcare teams to improve outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to restore health, respecting patient autonomy and dignity. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritization, with additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition accurately and appropriately.
• Administer prescribed medications knowledgeably.
• Provide age-appropriate care and support self-care activities.
• Develop and evaluate patient and family education plans.
• Use nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
• Assist physicians with procedures requiring technical skills.
• Address psychosocial needs and communicate with social services for discharge planning.
• Practice cost-effective resource management.
• Prioritize patient care efficiently while promoting safety and minimizing risks.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the current unit or specialty area.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy required.
• Valid RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS/PALS certifications.
