Role Overview

The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care in various settings, collaborating with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes. The role involves assessing patients, administering medications, performing treatments, and educating patients and families. The nurse ensures patient safety, advocates for patient rights, and promotes dignity and autonomy. They assist physicians with procedures, address psychosocial needs, and practice cost-effective care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate patient assessments based on medical condition
• Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments
• Create and evaluate patient and family education plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
• Assist physicians with procedures requiring technical skills
• Identify and address psychosocial needs, communicating with social services
• Practice resource management and promote patient safety
• Engage in lifelong professional learning

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant unit or specialty
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Computer literacy
• RN licensure; BLS certification within 14 days of hire
• Preferred: ACLS/PALS certifications
