About the role

The Nest at Thompson Seattle is seeking a Full Time Seasonal Host to join our dynamic team. Located atop the Thompson Seattle hotel, The Nest offers stunning views of Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountains, along with a variety of experiences including intimate tastings, DJ's, and more. The role involves creating memorable first impressions, managing seating arrangements, and providing personalized guest service.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide a positive first impression
• Manage seating arrangements and ensure smooth guest flow
• Handle reservations and waitlists efficiently
• Make personalized menu recommendations based on guest preferences
• Anticipate and resolve guest concerns to ensure satisfaction
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a seamless dining experience
• Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a welcoming demeanor

Requirements

• Exceptional communication skills
• Clear and effective verbal communication
• Demonstrated experience in customer service
• Familiarity with restaurant menus and menu knowledge
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in hospitality or restaurant environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for on-call positions)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

Pay

• Hourly role: Starts at $23.37, increases to $23.87 after 90 days
• Five-year rate: Increases to $23.87 after 90 days, additional $0.50 after five years
• Seven-year rate: Increases to $23.87 after 90 days, additional $0.75 after seven years
• Ten-year rate: Increases to $23.87 after 90 days, additional $1.00 after ten years

The seasonal employment period for positions at Thompson Seattle is anticipated to commence in mid-May and conclude at the end of September. Exact dates may vary depending on business needs.
