About the Role

Lola Rose Grand Mezze is recruiting for a Seasonal Cook 1 (Prep Cook/Entry) to join the hotel’s culinary team at Thompson Palm Springs Resort. Located above the buzz of Downtown Palm Springs, Lola Rose Grand Mezze offers an intimate dining experience with a bold Eastern Mediterranean influence, inspired by the spice markets of Istanbul and the seasonal bounty of California. Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and assembling food items according to recipes and production needs.
• Assist with food preparation and support assigned kitchen stations.
• Maintain food quality, proper storage, labeling, and rotation in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries and stocking kitchen supplies.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team and perform other duties as assigned.

This is a temporary, nonexempt (hourly) position anticipated to continue through Memorial Day 2027, with the possibility of earlier termination or extension based on business needs.

Requirements

• Previous food service or kitchen experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card in accordance with county requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Pay

The budgeted hourly rate for this role is $20.00 to $22.00, with individual rates determined based on experience and education.
