About the role

The Seasonal Culinary Assistant will assist with daily kitchen production, including supporting the cheese and charcuterie program, dish and glassware washing, and delivering products to various site locations. This role also supports Hudson House daily duties to maintain upkeep of all areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food offerings, including slicing, assembling cheese and charcuterie plates, dish station duties, food prep set-up, and delivery of culinary products on and off-site.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Team and Manager on food needs, inventory, menu ideas, tasting programs, and food and wine pairings.
  • Assist the Event Manager with setting up and breaking down events, including handling glassware, tables, chairs, and maintaining cleanliness at Hudson House.
  • Ensure all food production meets TWE and Culinary Manager standards.
  • Support Back of the House and Front of the House duties, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during working hours.
  • Assist with proper receiving, inspecting, and storing of all food and supply orders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all kitchen areas, including prep, pantry, and culinary methods.
  • Knowledge of wines, wine tastings, and food-wine pairings.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience with a Californian Food Handler Card and/or Serve-Safe Certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with a professional and positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

  • Base pay: Hourly rate ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, based on experience, skills, role scope, location, and business needs.
  • Incentive pay: Eligible to participate in the Direct-to-Consumer Sales Incentive Plan (DSIP), offering variable compensation based on site performance. Not guaranteed.
  • Estimated on-target earnings: $24.33 to $27.50 per hour, including base pay plus target DSIP at target performance (where applicable). Actual earnings vary based on site performance, hours worked, and role classification.
  • Tips: Tips are paid by customers and vary by location, shift, and customer volume. Not guaranteed.
