Culinary Assistant

About the role

Riley Crossing senior living community located in Chanhassen, MN near Hwy 101 and County Road 212. Opened in 2019, it hosts 134 units of Independent, Assisted Living, Enhanced and Memory Care in total. This location also offers on-site intergenerational child care and interactive programming with our seniors. The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to go meal service to residents.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures
• Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures
• Follows proper procedures for dining room set-up
• Follows proper work flow to stay on task
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction: welcomes residents and initiates conversation
• Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
• Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately; refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate

Qualifications

Required: Less than 1 year experience.

Preferred: High School Diploma; 1 year experience.

Schedule

Part‑time schedule: 20 hours every two weeks, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm shift, with every‑other‑weekend rotation.
