SDPB Broadcast Operations Technician (Temporary)

About the role

South Dakota Public Broadcasting seeks an energetic, organized, and goal-focused professional to operate and monitor television and radio transmitting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read meters, observe transmitter components, and check equipment for possible problems.
• Assist in minor maintenance of broadcast equipment.
• Switch video and audio sources as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.
• Knowledge of broadcast operations, Federal Communication Commission rules and regulations, IP networking, and electronics terminology.
• Ability to navigate MS Windows folders and files, use MS Office products, follow broadcast station program schedules, take meter readings, and work independently.

Qualifications

Position is 24 hours per week. Schedule requires some evenings and overnight shifts in a climate controlled room.
