About the role

Aurora DSQL is a serverless, distributed SQL database designed for maximum scalability, availability, and ease of use. This role involves enhancing the query optimization and execution layers to improve performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging technical problems, often involving novel approaches to database optimization and execution.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain innovative software solutions to optimize Aurora DSQL's performance and reliability.
• Build high-impact solutions that significantly improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions with technical insights.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience, including experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database system internals and query optimizer architectures.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually.
