Software Development Engineer, Amazon Aurora DSQL

About the role

AWS is looking for passionate and talented Software Development Engineers to innovate on Aurora DSQL, a serverless, distributed SQL database. This role involves contributing to the cellular platform, defining and implementing service APIs, and securing Aurora DSQL within the AWS ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement service APIs that influence customer interaction with Aurora DSQL
• Contribute to building the cellular platform to ensure seamless scaling of the product
• Work on projects that embed Aurora DSQL into the AWS ecosystem
• Solve highly complex engineering problems

Requirements

• Expertise in software architecture and large-scale design patterns
• Experience with both relational and non-relational database systems
• Experience with platform engineering
• Proficiency in Rust programming
• Background in designing and operating highly available distributed systems

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Skills

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 annually.
