About the role

Aurora DSQL is a serverless, distributed SQL database designed for scalability, availability, and ease of use. The BOM team focuses on solving complex problems in distributed systems, such as accurate billing, system monitoring, benchmarking, and capacity forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Create metrics and implement automation to improve software architecture and drive efficiencies.
  • Design, implement, and deliver state-of-the-art distributed, high-performance data and transaction processing algorithms and solutions.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deploy and monitor new features in a highly available and fault-tolerant system running in the cloud.
  • Work cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with technical input.
  • Work in a startup-like development environment, tackling the most important challenges.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming in Rust.

Skills

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, including experience with distributed systems, observability, and operational excellence. Proficiency in Rust and AWS CDK is preferred.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 annually.
