SCRUM Team Lead
About the role
The Scrum Team Lead provides engineering leadership across .NET, Blazor, and integration components for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) to deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.
Ensure compliance with CI/CD, DevSecOps, VA SDLC, Section 508 requirements, and VA Enterprise Architecture guidance. Oversee code quality, design patterns, performance considerations, refactoring needs, and architectural alignment. Coordinate closely with System Teams to ensure production readiness, observability, and monitoring alignment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Scrum activities, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Enforce secure coding practices, automated testing standards, and prevention of known defects or vulnerabilities from being promoted to production.
- Support orchestration of solution demonstrations, dependency mapping, and technical feasibility analysis.
- Guide cross-functional collaboration with System Teams, Architecture, Cybersecurity, QA, and Integration roles.
- Support backlog refinement, Sprint Planning, PI Planning, and Agile delivery metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile Scrum teams delivering enterprise-grade applications.
- Experience with Microsoft technology stack (.NET, C#, Blazor) and VA-aligned architectures.
- Experience ensuring compliance with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps security standards, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Qualifications
Preferred certifications: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), or SAFe Practitioner.
Knowledge of NCA memorials eligibility, burial scheduling, interment, monuments, and VA Product Owner support is beneficial.
