We are looking for a Steampunk Scrum Master/Project Manager to serve as the Scrum Master on an Agile software development team, leading the Steampunk contingent in delivering a major mission system. This effort leverages Public Sector Foundation - Advanced (PSFA) and integrates systems using MuleSoft.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the scrum team for a key high-priority project, ensuring focus on quality and continuous delivery.
- Lead and manage the Steampunk delivery team contingent.
- Identify and mitigate risks while supporting planning and delivery of technical IT development Agile projects.
- Define project scope and schedule, focusing on regular and timely delivery of value.
- Prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks, issues, and correct deviations from plans.
- Perform delivery planning for assigned projects and assist in team development.
- Hold teams accountable for commitments, remove roadblocks, and leverage organizational resources to improve capacity.
- Mentor and develop team members while managing customer expectations and stakeholder communications.
- Implement an effective system of project governance and ensure teams are effective and focused.
- Coach teams on the delivery process, Agile mindset, and client values to improve collaboration and self-organization.
- Help teams use time wisely, avoid distractions, and escalate/resolve team issues.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops, create shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps.
- Perform hands-on project work, including analysis, design, and change management as needed.
Requirements
- Must reside within the DC area.
- Authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
- 4+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies.
- 4+ years of experience serving as the Product Owner or Scrum Master.
- CSM and SAFe certifications required.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence.
- Experience helping teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions.
- Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives across a wide variety of work products and people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working in a studio/human-centered design approach.
Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
