SCRUM Master, Jr.

About the role

The Scrum Master, Jr. guides the scrum team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team.

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate sprint planning, release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile-related events
• Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
• Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
• Assist with internal and external communication
• Assist product owners with backlog grooming
• Help the team make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
• Identify and remove impediments that interfere with the team’s ability to deliver assigned goals
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
• Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase velocity
• Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and innovation
• Collaborate with fellow scrum masters to promote best practices
• Mentor junior scrum masters

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps and/or software/application development processes
• Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Atlassian Agile Products (Jira and Confluence)
• Active TS/SCI clearance required to start; must be able to obtain a CI Polygraph
• US Citizenship required

Pay

Likely salary range: $124,093 – $147,200. Actual salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

• Work location: Onsite at USA VA Springfield
