Primary Purpose of Position

As a Scrum Master, you will play a major role in continuing the success of one of our mature Agile teams. This position contributes to our success by leading a high performing Agile scrum team, championing continuous improvement, and partnering with business stakeholders and product managers to deliver the most optimal solutions. The Scrum Master works to drive the high-quality delivery of solutions and will encourage team productivity by facilitating planning and removing impediments that may obstruct the team's progress as they work towards their goals.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged
  • Enable the consistent delivery of value with on-time execution of scoped/scheduled work
  • Ensure that Agile-related project reporting, such as burndowns and status updates, are relevant, transparent, and add value
  • In partnership with the product owner, mentor / coach scrum teams on user story sizing and acceptance criteria definition, facilitates the definition of minimal viable product, and leads continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog
  • Leads sprint planning and task definition, sprint execution, impediment removal and tracking, sprint review, and retrospectives
  • Manage and surface issues and risks; track teams progress using primary "source of truth" tools
  • Oversee the implementation of the Supply Chain Process in accordance with company guidelines, legal requirements, Supply and Business Unit procedures, business unit needs and enterprise wide solutions
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog
  • Work as a coach with team members as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team
  • Support a six-week production release cycle by handling all paperwork and approvals across multiple teams
  • Collect business requirements as necessary for new enhancements and present back to the Agile team prior to development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems with 5-years experience, in lieu of degree 9-years experience
  • A thorough grasp of agile and lean delivery concepts and methodologies, and a history of successfully applying this knowledge to manage teams
  • Knowledge of change management and experience with successfully implementing and leading change initiatives
  • Comprehensive understanding of software delivery techniques associated with new technology implementation (i.e. DevOps)
  • Ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences including investigators, senior management, team members and others
  • Experience in meeting facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
  • Experience managing teams of user experience and user interface designers
  • First level Certified Scrum Master or other relevant Agile project management Certifications (CSM, Safe or PMIACP)
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage work to adhere to critical multiple projects and timelines in a fast paced environment and work effectively under pressure
  • 5-years experience with a proven track record of using Agile methodologies including managing large, complex projects in high-tech development environments with multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • A thorough grasp of agile and lean delivery concepts and methodologies, and a history of successfully applying this knowledge to manage teams
  • Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing and work effectively across business units, functional groups, multiple levels of the Corporation and external stakeholders
  • Ability to perform business analyst tasks such as requirements gathering from business stakeholders and presenting to the technical team
  • Experience with production releases and coordinating all required paperwork and approvals
  • Demonstrated success in leading large projects and providing guidance to project teams as PM
  • Experience building and leading new scrum teams
  • Understanding of standards and practices for IT project lifecycle management activities and deliverables
  • Second level Scrum Master certification (PSM II, CSP)

Pay

Expected salary range of $117,900 to $131,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
