About the role
Guide and coach Agile/Scrum practices to drive end value, serving as the team’s Scrum expert. Work closely with the Release Train Engineer and Product Owner to align priorities, remove impediments, and foster self-organization. Assess and elevate Scrum maturity at a sustainable pace.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint demos
- Integrate team efforts with other teams and the Release Train Engineer
- Consult with the Product Owner to validate and communicate team priorities
- Guide, coach, and motivate the team to increase productivity and improve workflows
- Remove impediments to optimize and sustain team velocity
- Lead the team in self-organizing to address gaps in Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Foster accountability, transparency, and regular status updates
- Ensure the Rally system reflects the current state of work
- Assess Scrum maturity and coach the team toward higher levels
- Build and maintain a trusting, safe environment for proactive problem-solving
- Improve transparency and radiate relevant information to teams and stakeholders
- Facilitate work without coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks
- Manage, publish, and communicate information radiators and relevant metrics
- Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized facility and store products according to company standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5–7 years of Scrum experience with at least 2 years as a Scrum Master (or equivalent education/experience)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM or SAFe Scrum Master SSM required; SASM, CSPO, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist SA desired)
- Experience guiding teams in writing, splitting, and mapping user stories
- Understanding of software development fundamentals and procedures
- Knowledge of IT technologies and test-driven development
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes
- Familiarity with relative estimation, retrospectives, and Agile release planning
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and strong innovation/facilitation skills
- Proven oral, written, and business presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interface effectively with Release Train Engineers, stakeholders, and vendors
