This role supports vehicle electronic systems and requires onsite presence due to the nature of the work.
About the Role
The Scrum Master facilitates the Scrum process, coaches the team, and removes obstacles to ensure on-time feature delivery for General Dynamics vehicle electronic systems.
Responsibilities
- Guide the Scrum Team on Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services.
- Develop the team to a high-performing level by recognizing strengths and areas for improvement through coaching and development techniques.
- Ensure Scrum is understood and adhered to by the team, including Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
- Coach the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skills, domain knowledge, and effective communication.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to influence decision-making and support organizational projects.
- Resolve team impediments with other Scrum Masters to enhance Scrum effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role and advance Agile practices.
- Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Act as a leader who coaches Agile teams assigned to Business as Usual (BAU) work and department initiatives.
- Work closely with the Program Owner and RTE on backlog refinement and prioritization.
- Monitor sprint progress, team performance, and delivery metrics.
- Provide clear, concise updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Maintain project timelines and identify risks.
- Experience with safety-critical systems or real-time systems is desirable.
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure, DevSecOps).
- Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment concepts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of project development experience.
- 2 years of Scrum Master experience.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance (non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible).
- Ability to climb on/off, work in, and around military vehicles is desired.
- Must pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
- Self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage tasks, projects, and tight deadlines.
- Experience in prototype shop, laboratory, manufacturing, and office environments.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; works well in teams and individually.
- Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles is desired.
