Scrub Technician I, Outpatient Pavilion
About the role
The OR Scrub Technician prepares the operating room environment, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies. This role works under the supervision of a circulating Registered Nurse and collaborates with the department's philosophy and goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepares the operating room environment and equipment for surgery
- Assists with instrument preparation and sterilization
- Monitors and ensures proper supply usage
- Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
- Ensures patient safety throughout the perioperative process
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of scrub experience preferred
- Licensed Surgical Technologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- Certification in Surgical Technology preferred
- BLS certification required
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
