Scrub Technician I, Outpatient Pavilion

About the role

The OR Scrub Technician prepares the operating room environment, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies. This role works under the supervision of a circulating Registered Nurse and collaborates with the department's philosophy and goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room environment and equipment for surgery
• Assists with instrument preparation and sterilization
• Monitors and ensures proper supply usage
• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
• Ensures patient safety throughout the perioperative process

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of scrub experience preferred
• Licensed Surgical Technologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred
• BLS certification required

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control

• Proficiency with surgical instruments and equipment
