Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, sterilize, and distribute medical/surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment using established standards and procedures.
- Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment, performing biological and quality assurance testing to verify sterilization effectiveness.
- Inspect, assemble, package, label, and store sterile supplies to maintain inventory readiness.
- Issue supplies and equipment needed for patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with patient care activities as assigned and within the scope of training, hospital policies, and accepted standards of practice.
- Maintain effective communication with Registered Nurses, charge nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in patient care planning, team conferences, and shift reports as appropriate.
- Order, receive, stock, and maintain established par levels of supplies and equipment specific to the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
- Assist with unit support functions, including answering telephones and call lights, distributing meals, performing environmental tasks, and completing other assigned duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with infection prevention and safety standards.
- Participate in continuing education, competency validation, and staff development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
