Position Summary

The Scrub Technician is a member of the nursing team who contributes to the comfort and wellbeing of the patients by performing specifically assigned tasks and works under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Remain current with all the new procedures and are able to assist other team members with instrumentation and equipment associated specifically with the specialty.

The collaborative efforts of both the RN and Scrub tech is the key to patient care excellence and physician satisfaction. Provides surgical scrub assistance for cases performed in Women’s Services. The scrub tech assists the RN in maintaining the OB preferences for listed surgical procedures of the specialty assigned. Remain current with all the new procedures and are able to assist other team members with instrumentation and equipment associated specifically with the specialty. Supports and provides services to the Labor and Delivery/Post-Partum patients as directed by the Registered Nurse. Responsible for the establishment / evaluation of the PAR level for supplies as well as the routine stocking, cleaning & maintenance of instruments for the unit. Performs other duties as assigned.
