Screening Deputy Lead
About the role
The primary focus of this role is to assist the Screening Manager in tracking the performance of screening activities for prospective research volunteers. This includes supporting day-to-day volunteer marketing and recruitment activities to meet study enrollment timelines, ensuring volunteer recruitment practices are fair and ethical, and ensuring study data is collected to a high quality in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Screening Manager, Principal Investigator (PI), and Clinical Lead to understand the demands and strategy for studies to ensure advertising plans meet the requirements.
- Assist in updating the company volunteer recruitment website in advance of the screening start date.
- Post social media for volunteer recruitment (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and respond to comments on all platforms (as applicable).
- Prepare admission lists, screening logs as needed.
- Thoroughly read and understand protocols and train screening staff on protocol prior to start of recruitment or screening.
- Ensure ethical and adequate recruitment and screening of prospective research volunteers for studies.
- Explain research study and obtain proper informed consent. Ensure consents are completed prior to the performance of any screening activities.
- Obtain medical histories and document findings according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocol-specific requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Aids in the performance and/or scheduling of all screening procedures required by protocol.
- Aids in obtaining clinical laboratory specimens and shipping to the appropriate laboratory as needed.
- Review abnormal results of screening tests with the Investigators and alert volunteers of results that need further medical evaluation.
- Ensure that screen failure charts are properly archived in a timely manner.
- Aid in other duties as assigned.
- Liaise with the medical team to assess volunteer suitability for inclusion on the database where required.
- Respond to volunteer queries, involving other staff as appropriate in order to provide the best response.

Candidate Qualifications
- Associate degree (preferred) or high school graduate
- At least 2 years’ experience of working in a health-related environment, preferably clinical research
- Fluent in English/Spanish
- Computer proficient and able to navigate through various specialized computerized systems
- Demonstrated digital skills in social media communications
- Demonstrated understanding of the latest online marketing concepts, strategy, and best practice
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, deliver, and analyze advertising campaigns for recruitment of volunteers
- Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and self-directed
