Screed Operator

Responsibilities

• Complete all required safety training as scheduled and participate in all project TBT and safety meetings
• Review SDS’s as needed
• Perform pre and post shift inspections of assigned equipment and complete required logs/reports
• Operate equipment in accordance with all company safety programs
• Operate asphalt screed on the paving machine
• Have basic asphalt knowledge including milling, paving, and ability to effectively operate equipment
• Observe milling machine operation and adjust controls to ensure conformance with standards specified by the project owner
• Communicate with other crew members to ensure daily schedules are met
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair the drum daily and report malfunctions to supervisor
• Use Personal Protective Equipment appropriate for the duties performed
• Willing to work various shifts according to project needs and willing to travel throughout southwestern states as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of asphalt, milling, and paving
• Ability to monitor milling operations and adjust controls to meet project specifications
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to maintain and repair the screed drum daily
• Willingness to work varied shifts and travel throughout southwestern states as needed
