Alliance Construction LLC is looking for experienced scraper operators for a temporary job in Fargo, ND, lasting 2-6 weeks.
About the role
A scraper operator uses heavy machinery to move, dig, and level large amounts of earth. They build roadbeds, clear sites, and prepare land for construction. These operators manage the heavy lifting of dirt and ensure the ground is ready for buildings or paved roads.
Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely maneuver twin-engine or single-engine scrapers (to load, haul, and dump dirt) and dozers (to push and level bulk earth).
- Machine Maintenance: Perform daily "walk-around" safety checks, including greasing parts, checking fluid levels, and connecting hydraulic hoses.
- Site Preparation: Cut, fill, and grade terrain to exact elevations.
- Read Grade Stakes: Read and interpret construction stakes or electronic GPS monitors to know exactly how much dirt to add or remove.
- Safety Protocols: Follow all safety rules to avoid hazards like underground utility lines and other equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License (or Commercial Driver's License).
- Physical Strength: Ability to endure all weather conditions, constant bumps/jolts from the machinery, and demanding physical labor.
- Coordination: Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination to operate multiple pedals, levers, and computerized controls simultaneously.
Pay
$47.00 an hour plus overtime over 40 hours a day.
Schedule
- 12-hour shift (6 pm to 6 am).
- 6 days on, 1 day off (Sunday).
