Scraper Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for equipment.
• Load and dump dirt correctly.
• Check, lubricate, and fuel equipment as needed.
• Communicate with other operators and grade checkers during cuts and fills.
• Understand and respect the limitations of machinery in various field conditions.
• Operate hand tools as necessary to complete tasks.
• Set up and store job equipment.
• Care for and use hand tools appropriately.
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the crew leader.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the crew leader.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proof of age over 18, identity, and eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screening.
• At least 3 years or more experience operating scrapers.
• Familiarity with the operation and minor maintenance of scrapers.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Able to follow orders and understand directions.
• Able to learn to operate other types of heavy equipment.
• Able to lift, carry, and transfer 100+ pounds frequently and perform stooping, kneeling, and digging.
• Able to work on scaffolding.
