Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist, Proteomics to join our Translational Research team and play a central role in advancing a novel therapeutic asset across rare mitochondrial disorders, neurological diseases, oncology, and other indications. This individual will be a key driver of mechanism-of-action (MoA) studies, biomarker discovery/validation, enabling data-driven decision-making across preclinical and clinical development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and execute discovery and targeted proteomics experiments to support MoA, pharmacodynamics, and biomarker identification.
- Lead analysis of complex biological samples (plasma, tissue, CSF, cellular systems) using LC-MS/MS–based proteomics platforms.
- Drive biomarker discovery and validation, translating proteomic findings into clinically relevant biomarker candidates.
- Collaborate closely with biology, pharmacology, bioinformatics, and clinical teams to support translational research strategy.
- Interpret and present results to cross-functional teams, and external collaborators.
- Contribute to regulatory and publication-quality documentation, including study reports and manuscripts.
- Stay current with advances in proteomics technologies, computational tools, and analytical methods to continuously improve platform capabilities.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Proteomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- 4+ years of industry experience in proteomics or translational biomarker research (biotech or pharmaceutical environment preferred).
- Strong hands-on expertise in mass spectrometry–based proteomics.
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of biologists, chemists, and computational scientists to deeply characterize and understand the proteomes of cells, biofluids, and tissues.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and present data in a clear fashion.
- Experience integrating proteomics with multi-omics datasets and systems biology approaches is desired.
- Solid scientific training/productivity as identified through high-impact publications demonstrating creative thinking as well as innovative technical approaches.
