Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintain confidential information consistent with Inotiv corporate policy.
- Support and participate in company initiatives.
- Operate lab equipment and perform analyses according to the Operation Manuals, SOPs, Best Practices, and training.
- Prepare samples through LC-MS injection and assist with data acquisition as instructed.
- Operate, program, and maintain automated liquid-handling and bead-based sample-preparation systems (e.g., KingFisher, Bravo) to support reproducible, plate-based, high-throughput proteomic processing.
- Record results accurately in the ELN and contribute to data summaries and study documentation.
- Notify the Lab Manager and/or Principal Investigator of any deviations from the study protocol/SOPs/Best Practices or unexpected processes preventing the proper completion of sample processing and document as required.
- Document results and maintain training files.
- Ensure training files are properly maintained by keeping his/her CV current and for providing copies of certificates or documentation of training.
- Follow Good Laboratory Practice principles (21 CFR Part 58).
Position Requirements
- Educational and Experience: BS, or MS, or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with qualifying laboratory experience in degree program.
- Skills and Abilities: Basic understanding of processes related to Bioanalysis including sample preparation, instrument / equipment operation and data processing and reporting; experience with analysis of proteins and peptides by mass spectrometry, including protein-specific extraction, separation, and purification methods; experience with automated sample-preparation platforms; documentation discipline and the ability to follow SOPs and written protocols precisely; familiarity with GLP/GMP/GCP principles; ability to use a computer and an electronic lab notebook (ELN); manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment and calculator/computer; ability to read and interpret test results and instrument specifications; working knowledge and awareness of general laboratory procedures; good written and oral communication skills; ability to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures; desired experience with software for analysis of mass spectrometry data.
Performance Requirements
- General Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Frequent walking, sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, carrying, heavy lifting (max. 50 lbs), reaching while standing, gripping and twisting hand movements, finger control and other general repetitive motions (for more than four [4] hours per day).
- Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses as required.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include use of protective equipment.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Work involves radiant/electrical energy, solvents, grease, oil, irritants, acids, bases, and other hazardous chemicals, electro-mechanical hazards, flammable materials and bio-hazards.
- Due to exposure to hazardous biological material (which may include HIV positive specimens), immunization to Hepatitis B and/or other diseases may be a requirement.
