Scientist III
About the role
The Scientist III will lead the development of new ADME studies and technologies and implement process improvements. They will perform method validation, report writing, complex trouble-shooting, and problem-solving in the field of drug discovery and development. Responsibilities include serving as a study director, principal investigator, or project coordinator, managing sponsor interactions, planning, supervising, and executing complex ADME discovery and development studies. They will also supervise personnel, ensure optimal performance, write comprehensive reports, present clear and concise oral reports, maintain research notebooks, train junior level scientists, review other scientists' calculations and records, follow safety policies, and participate in SOP writing and review.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of new ADME studies and technologies
- Perform method validation, report writing, complex trouble-shooting, and problem-solving
- Serve as a study director, principal investigator, or project coordinator
- Serve as a primary contact for sponsors
- Plan, supervise, and execute complex ADME discovery and development studies
- Supervise personnel
- Ensure optimum personnel performance through leading by example, motivation, and performance recognition
- Write comprehensive reports and present clear and concise oral reports of processes and accomplishments
- Maintain research notebooks in a well-organized manner
- All necessary documentation is recorded
- Train junior level scientists
- Review other scientists' calculations and records
- Follow company’s safety policies, practices, and procedures in order to maintain a safe work environment, practices good housekeeping, and maintains a safe workplace without supervision
- Learns, enhances, and shares technical knowledge of pharmaceutical areas, DMPK, ADME, In Life, Metabolism, and Bioanalysis
- Participates in writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Suggests practical changes to SOPs
Requirements
- PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other related Physical science degree
- Experience: PhD with 0-3 years related experience, Master’s degree with 8+ years related experience, Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
Qualifications
- An expert in advanced experimental methods, concepts, and techniques relevant to ADME field
- Demonstrates independent thought and scientific/technical creativity
- Continues to increase awareness and understanding of relevant science and is conversant with relevant scientific literature
- Collaboratively researches and proposes methodologies for projects
- Acts independently to research and propose methodologies and implement them
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management skill to perform multiple projects within deadlines
- Able to work in a team environment
- Follows and adheres to nonGLP guidelines/SOPs consistent with WuXi AppTec requirement
