About the role
The Research Scientist II will be part of a dynamic team supporting biologics drug discovery and protein engineering. They will leverage automation technologies to generate and characterize therapeutic proteins.
Responsibilities
- Execute and develop mammalian cell culture and transfection workflows
- Perform protein purification and in vitro analytical characterization techniques (e.g., SEC, MS, DSF)
- Optimize workflow and assay designs using statistical analysis
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external scientific leaders
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Typically 7+ years (BS) or 5+ years (MS) of pharmaceutical and/or relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of biologics, antibody fragments, and protein mimetics
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, sequence analysis, and protein engineering fundamentals
- Experience with workflow and assay optimization using statistical analysis
- Experience with cell-free production and screening of therapeutic binders is a plus
Qualifications
- Competence in protein purification and in vitro analytical characterization techniques (e.g., SEC, MS, DSF)
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, sequence analysis, and protein engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on experience executing and developing mammalian cell culture and transfection workflows
- Strong ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external scientific leaders
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay
Base pay range: $84,500 - $162,000 USD
