Job Summary
Job Title: Scientist II
Work Location: South San Francisco, CA
Working Hours: Standard 8 hour shift (40 hours weekly)
Interview Format: Two Rounds (1. Hiring Manager [30 minutes - virtual]; 2. Panel [3 hours - onsite])
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the production, analytics, and development of next-generation viral vectors.
- Support the gene therapy pipeline and contribute to innovative therapeutic modalities.
- Facilitate the research community in applying viral vectors as powerful research tools.
Skills
- Proficient in mammalian cell culture and general molecular biology techniques such as transient plasmid transfection, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, dPCR and Western blot.
- Working experiences with lentivirus or AAV production and application, CRISPR technology for genome editing are highly desirable.
- Experience with flow cytometer operations, electronic notebook and proficiency in data analysis and computational programming are also strong plus.
Education
- MS or PhD degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics, or a related discipline.
- With 3+ years of laboratory research experience.
- Must have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
