Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II to join a well-established and collaborative research program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, cutting-edge research using state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate research progress and analyze results
  • Implement improvements to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure the successful execution of research objectives
  • Provide scientific leadership and oversee projects involving laboratory staff, graduate students, and research trainees
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for laboratory personnel by providing technical guidance and experimental support
  • Independently troubleshoot experimental and technical challenges
  • Contribute to scientific publications and presentations
  • Foster a collaborative and productive research environment

Qualifications

  • No experience required
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time
  • Shift M-F 8a-5p with weekends as needed
