About the Role

AbbVie's Gastrointestinal (GI)/Immunology Discovery Research group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced in vivo and in vitro pharmacologist to play an integral role in advancing therapeutics to treat inflammatory GI disorders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to understand the pharmacodynamic effects of experimental medicines with GI-relevant in vitro and in vivo assays.

The ideal candidate will work within the highly matrixed and collaborative Discovery Immunology team to guide test article screening and assay development as well as build biology packages for early-stage programs. Experimental focus will be on developing and leveraging in vivo and in vitro systems to help understand the impact of test articles in mucosal immunity. The candidate is expected to design, execute, interpret, and present innovative research to advance programs towards the clinic.

We are seeking a hands-on experimentalist proficient with in vivo and in vitro cell biology research who has demonstrated scientific leadership with internal and external stakeholders/experts. The expectation is that the candidate would dedicate the majority of their time toward wet lab experimentation, data analysis, and presentation. In addition, we are seeking a candidate with excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to present their results at team and internal/external science meetings.
