About the role
Work Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)
Interview process: Phone screen followed by an in-person interview.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and monitor laboratory experiments using established and published procedures, with technical and theoretical understanding.
- Make recommendations to resolve problems encountered during experimental procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results.
- Summarize experimental results and review conclusions with supervisor/project leader.
- Communicate results of experiments in the form of reports and presentations.
- Keep supervisor/project leader informed of project status, particularly significant findings and critical problem areas.
- Perform work according to established internal safety guidelines and external regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA).
- Analyze experimental data using data analysis software and/or quantitative methods.
- Form conclusions and provide/document process improvements.
- Use technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
- Present findings at internal meetings.
- Maintain electronic notebook documentation, ensuring methods and results are recorded timely, accurately, and consistently.
- Participate in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR implementation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation.
- Plan and execute own work with general instructions.
- Stay informed of trends and developments in area of scientific responsibility.
- Collaborate with individuals or teams outside of immediate functional area or RMD.
- Resolve problems of limited scope and complexity using broad concepts of a particular field or specialization.
- Analyze alternative approaches to solve problems or develop new perspectives on existing solutions.
- Act as a lead for assigned projects or team.
Requirements
- Experience working with amino acids.
- Comfortable discussing failures, lessons learned, and problem-solving approaches.
- ddPCR (Digital Droplet PCR) experience is required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (required).
- Master’s Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 5 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in designing and executing relevant laboratory experimentation and determining next steps within the context of overall project goals.
