Job Title - Scientist I Location - San Diego, CA Duration - 12+ Months Contract Total Hours/week - 40.00 1st Shift pay rate:$20-30/hr Work hours: 8am-5pm, 40 hours/week Client: Medical Device Company Job Category: Research & Development Level Of Experience: Mid-Level Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only) Description We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Scientist I to contribute to the research and development of monoclonal antibodies in our Antibody Discovery team. This individual will be responsible for working in a dynamic team environment and be a contributor to multiple work streams, including but not limited to tissue culture and protein purification. Responsibilities include the routine, accurate and timely processing of experimental samples according to standard protocols and operating procedures. The successful candidate is expected to set up and execute experiments, be detail oriented, skilled at data analysis and trouble shooting. The Scientist I will prioritize daily workload and work with some supervision. Duties And Responsibilities Routine, accurate and timely completion of all assigned experimental tests. Will be expected to efficiently prioritize individual workload once training is complete. Independently analyze research data, solve problems with appropriate guidance and effectively plan follow up experiments. Responsible for the execution of experiments with varying complexity using multi-color Flow Cytometry. Analyze data using FCS Express and report test results including completion of all required documentation and database entries as required by QC protocols or operating procedures. Expected under supervision to develop skills and exercise judgment in troubleshooting routine assigned test procedures and in recommending appropriate corrective actions. Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements. Promotes a safe work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. Knowledge And Skills Proficient in tissue culture techniques; experience growing and producing antibodies from hybridomas is highly preferred. Experience with protein purification. Prefer familiarity with FPLC and/or HPLC. Molecular biology and cloning. Animal handling. Previous experience with flow cytometry is an asset. Effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate, and complete records. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexible team player with good problem-solving and communication skills. Education And Experience Requires a Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, immunology or related scientific discipline and a minimum of 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
