Scientist/Engineer II

About the role

Everforth ECS is seeking a Scientist/Engineer II candidate to provide onsite support to DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) in Arlington, Virginia. MTO plays a key role in breakthroughs and innovative technologies, which requires a superior level of technical, analytical, financial, and general administrative support encompassing a broad range of expertise in technologies and disciplines for existing and future DARPA MTO efforts.

Responsibilities

• Support a DARPA program manager by participating in or leading all activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, program-funded test coordination, and coordination with members of the Department of Defense for transition.
• Coordinate meetings, assess performer technical progress, project performer outcomes, and ensure that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself.
• Develop point papers, slide decks, and other materials that convey the need, status, and importance of a program.
• Research unique problem set ideas to aid in National Security priorities.

Required Skills

• Master's Degree
• Active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
• 7+ years of experience
• Experience at progressively more difficult levels in planning and developing technical projects of an R&D nature, concerned with unique or controversial problems which have an important effect on major DoD programs
• Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning, and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently on R&D engineering problems and methods, and to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work

Desired Skills

• At least three (3) years extensive experience, background and knowledge of one or more DARPA programs is highly desirable
• Published articles in Field of Expertise highly desirable
