Scientist/Engineer II

About the role

The Scientist/Engineer II will provide onsite support to DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO), playing a key role in breakthroughs and innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate or lead all activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, program-funded test coordination, and coordination with members of the Department of Defense for transition.
• Coordinate meetings, assess performer technical progress, project performer outcomes, and ensure project management best practices are followed.
• Develop point papers, slide decks, and other materials to convey the need, status, and importance of a program.
• Research unique problem set ideas to aid in National Security priorities.
• Conceive, plan, and conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques.
• Make decisions independently on R&D engineering problems and methods, and resolve important questions.
• Use advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in one or more DARPA technical areas.

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Active DOD Secret clearance
• 7+ years of experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning, and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently on R&D engineering problems and methods, and to resolve important questions.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in one or more DARPA technical areas.
